The cinematic journey through Italy takes us once around the boot: From Liguria and Tuscany we go to Campania to the super volcano Solfatara in the area of the town of Pozzuoli. On to Apulia on the Adriatic, where the Ottaviano family fetches the fish for their restaurant from the sea with a trabucco, a traditional coastal fishing machine. Part 5 takes us to Venice and Trieste. The films show parts of the Italian coast from a completely new perspective and well-known as well as lesser-known regions with the people who shape them. Deep down in the south, at the heel of the Italian boot, lies Apulia. Picturesque villages in the glistening southern light. Perched on the cliffs, the Trabucchi have been part of this landscape for centuries. "Go fishing without boarding a boat" was the idea that led the Phoenicians to build these "fishing machines".
